Every organisation has a moment that defines its purpose — a moment where action speaks louder than intention. For us, that moment happened on a quiet morning in Vosman, Witbank, where Straxom Foundation carried out its very first act of service.
Straxom Foundation was created with a simple belief: that the smallest act of kindness can open the biggest doors of dignity. In the communities we come from, needs aren’t abstract concepts — they are lived realities. And we chose to begin our journey with one of the most overlooked, yet deeply urgent, realities facing young women: access to menstrual hygiene.
Our First Project:
Restoring Dignity at Jeremiah Mdaka School**
For our first initiative, we partnered with BOM Foundation to donate over 200 packs of sanitary pads to learners at Jeremiah Mdaka Primary School. What looked like boxes and packaging on the surface was, in truth, confidence, comfort, and dignity delivered to young girls who deserve to show up at school without fear or shame.
Menstrual health is still treated like a taboo in many households and communities. Yet for young girls, it is a monthly challenge that determines whether they sit in class confidently or stay at home, missing out on education they should have access to.
That is why this project mattered to us. It wasn’t charity — it was restoration.
We were honoured by the warm welcome from the school leadership and staff, and even more moved by the gratitude in the eyes of the learners. Moments like these remind us why this foundation exists.
Why Straxom Foundation Exists
Straxom Foundation is more than a CSR arm of Straxom Group.
It is a commitment to:
- Access: creating opportunities where there are gaps.
- Dignity: ensuring people feel seen, valued, and respected.
- Community Strength: building confidence and resilience among young people.
- Service: showing up where it matters most.
We want to be the organisation that notices the needs others walk past — and responds with intention, not noise. No act is too small. No community is too far. No child is too invisible.
This Is Only the Beginning
Our next initiative will include donating wheelchairs to community members who need mobility support. And from there, the mission continues — one school, one family, one individual at a time.
Straxom Foundation was built to be a light in the gaps.
A quiet force for good.
A reminder that transformation doesn’t always start with millions — sometimes it starts with R1200, a decision, and a heart willing to act.
As we grow, we remain committed to becoming a foundation our city can trust, and a partner our community can depend on. Our work has just begun — and we’re building a legacy of impact with every small step we take.
